Crombé 3.0: Redefining the Wine Shopping Experience

A New Concept in Wine Retail

The Crombé winehouse shop concept’s goal was to have the customers experience a completely new way of shopping. The basic idea was to start from the look and feel of a warehouse, to which subsequently we added light and finesse. Even though the wines are being presented in their original packaging, the clean lines of the metal frames still ensure familiarity and perspective. Every bottle hangs in the frame in the identical inclination the sommelier would serve them in. The 12 m rack houses the champagnes and lockers. Per locker, clients can safely store up to 30 bottles.

The Crombé 3.0 design by FIVE AM is revolutionizing the wine shopping experience. With its unique combination of industrial aesthetics and functional design, this winehouse shop concept offers customers a completely new way to explore and purchase their favorite wines. Designed to resemble a warehouse, the Crombé 3.0 shop creates a sense of familiarity while adding a touch of sophistication.

One of the standout features of the Crombé 3.0 design is the use of metal frames that resemble industrial racks. These frames not only provide a clean and modern aesthetic, but they also serve a functional purpose. Each bottle of wine is displayed in the frame at the same inclination as a sommelier would serve it, allowing customers to appreciate the presentation and quality of each bottle.

The centerpiece of the Crombé 3.0 shop is a 12-meter-high rack that houses a selection of champagnes and lockers. Each locker can securely store up to 30 bottles, providing customers with a convenient and personalized storage solution. To access the lockers, customers can use a transparent gangway located at a height of 3.5 meters, adding a unique element of interaction and exploration to the shopping experience.

In addition to the main rack, the Crombé 3.0 shop also features two pop-up stores made out of perforated metal, creating an airy and inviting space for customers to browse and discover new wines. The use of wood and steel, both lacquered and rough, adds a tactile and visually appealing element to the overall design.

The Crombé 3.0 shop spans an impressive 1200 square meters, providing ample space for customers to explore and immerse themselves in the world of wine. The metal frames used throughout the shop measure 1200mm x 2000mm, creating a consistent and visually striking design element.

One of the key challenges in designing the Crombé 3.0 shop was to create a simple and efficient installation process. Despite its size and complexity, the entire shop was installed in just two weeks, showcasing the ingenuity and expertise of the design team.

The Crombé 3.0 design has received widespread acclaim and recognition. In 2014, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes the exceptional creativity, innovation, and technical excellence demonstrated by the Crombé 3.0 design.

With its unique blend of industrial aesthetics, functional design, and innovative features, the Crombé 3.0 shop is redefining the wine shopping experience. Whether customers are looking to discover new wines, store their collection, or simply enjoy the ambiance, the Crombé 3.0 shop offers a truly immersive and unforgettable journey into the world of wine.
