Bridgestone: A Dynamic and Immersive Corporate Office Design

Creating a Space that Reflects the Essence of the Brand

The use of reflecting materials creates a distinctive feeling of immersion that connects the user to the brand. The perfectly distributed floor separates public areas from operating areas, reflecting through architecture the very essence of the company.

Designing a corporate office that embodies the spirit and values of a brand is no easy task. However, Juan Carlos Baumgartner, the renowned designer behind Bridgestone's corporate office in Mexico City, has managed to create a space that not only reflects the essence of the brand but also fosters productivity and creativity.

The design of Bridgestone's corporate office is inspired by functionality and movement. Baumgartner wanted to create a space that not only increased productivity but also conveyed a sense of dynamism and light in motion. To achieve this, the design team used rugs and lighting that emulate the blur effect of cars in motion, creating a dynamic and visually captivating environment.

One of the unique features of this design is the use of reflecting materials. These materials not only add a touch of sophistication to the space but also create a sense of immersion, connecting the user to the brand. The perfectly distributed floor separates public areas from operating areas, allowing employees and visitors to experience the brand's essence throughout the office.

When it comes to the realization of the design, Baumgartner and his team employed a combination of innovative technologies and materials. They used Shaw carpet tile, real tires that were transformed into swings and lounges, and a lot of glass to create a light-filled space. The use of few materials also contributes to the overall cleanliness and minimalism of the design.

The Bridgestone corporate office spans approximately 2300 sqm and is located in Polanco-Lomas, Mexico City. The project took place from February to November 2013, with Baumgartner and his team collaborating with architectural design firm SPACE, lighting design firm LUA, constructor GA&A, furniture supplier Teknion, and photographer Paul Czitrom.

The design of the Bridgestone corporate office is not only visually stunning but also highly functional. The space invites visitors in with its dynamic layout and black reception area, symbolizing the moment before acceleration. The open space resembles speed, mirroring the way one looks at things and lights while driving fast. It creates an environment that inspires creativity and productivity.

This innovative design has not gone unnoticed. In 2014, the Bridgestone corporate office was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.

As we face the challenges of the future, the need for innovative and empathetic design solutions becomes increasingly important. The Bridgestone corporate office serves as a testament to the power of design in creating spaces that not only reflect a brand's essence but also foster productivity and creativity.
