To echo the beauty of Lung Fu Mountain surrounding the backside of the apartment, Regina Kwok used natural hues and woods without varnish throughout the space. The master bathroom was strategically designed with a bathtub facing a window that opened into the beautiful greens, allowing residents to immerse themselves in nature while enjoying a relaxing soak.
However, the owners of Hatton Place also desired a taste of luxury to impress their frequenting guests. To encapsulate the union of nature with opulence, a tree silhouette intricately cut out of a wooden panel welcomes visitors at the entrance. As they step inside, they are greeted by an enlarged kitchen and a minibar-cum-breakfast bar, where the owners can showcase their culinary skills. The pièce de résistance is the long marble dining table, where guests are treated to exquisite meals in an elegant setting.
Regina Kwok understood the needs of the owners, a couple living modern, fast-paced lives. With only two people in the household, she reworked the three-bedroom layout to create a spacious master bedroom and a study. The study features a sliding tinted glass partition instead of a formal door, allowing the husband to stay connected to his home even when he needs to work.
Situated in the Mid-Levels of Hong Kong, Hatton Place is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of nature and luxury. The design not only embraces the surrounding landscape but also provides a haven of comfort and elegance for its residents.
This exceptional design by Regina Kwok has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity. In 2014, Hatton Place was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that showcase exceptional technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
