Wellness and DaySPA: A Design that Transcends

Corporate interior branding meets spiritual escape

A Day spa facility that is designed to stimulate the customer upon arrival, assisting an immediate transcendence from a daily urban routine to a space of spiritual and physical uplifting.

The Wellness and DaySPA, designed by Helen Brasinika, is a unique project that combines the elements of corporate interior branding with the concept of a spiritual escape. Inspired by the earth and metal, the design draws upon the extraction of minerals and semi-precious stones to create a space that is both visually stunning and spiritually rejuvenating.

What sets this design apart is its ability to seamlessly blend traditional practices with high technology. The result is a facility that offers not only physical treatments but also spiritual and mental stimuli to help customers escape the hectic and stressful routine of urban life.

The design solution incorporates environmental branding to effectively communicate the identity of the DaySPA. The parametric layering of the ceiling and walls acts as a contemporary metaphor of a natural cave, allowing natural daylight to flood the office and accounting areas behind them. The two reception modules, gilded in copper leaf, resemble faceted semi-precious stones, symbolizing the inner beauty that every person holds.

Corridors and traffic zones have been designed as ring roads around geometric volumes that offer customized treatment and therapy plans. These zones also serve as aesthetic environments, exhibiting artwork by contemporary artists and engravers. Linear LED lighting indicates movement, while round recessed ceiling fixtures indicate pausing in front of private treatments, giving the feeling of jewelry.

The design was realized using Nurss CadSoftware and manufactured with CAD/CAM technology. The overall project occupies a total of 750 square meters, providing ample space for customers to relax and rejuvenate.

Despite the challenges of incorporating parametric design into a commercial project, the team overcame obstacles related to time, space, and state regulations. The result is a design that not only meets the needs and budget of the project but also exceeds expectations in terms of aesthetics and functionality.

The Wellness and DaySPA design is a testament to the power of design to create spaces that go beyond the ordinary. By combining art, architecture, and technology, Helen Brasinika has created a space that not only offers physical treatments but also provides a spiritual escape for customers.

With its unique approach to environmental branding and its commitment to creating a space of beauty and tranquility, the Wellness and DaySPA design is a true reflection of the designer's vision and expertise.

This Design was awarded Iron in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2014.
