Google Campus Dublin: A Testament to Innovation and Creativity

Camenzind Evolution's Masterpiece in Office Interior Design

Google Campus Dublin, a thriving hub of innovation, stands as a testament to the unique culture and values of Google. The campus, designed by Camenzind Evolution in collaboration with Henry J. Lyons Architects, is a blend of form and function, offering a stimulating and interactive environment in the heart of Dublin's historic docklands district.

The campus, which opened its doors in June 2013, represents the Google EU Headquarters and serves as the centre for sales and finances in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). It spans over 47,000 m2 of unique office space across four buildings, making it a bustling hub of creativity and innovation.

The tallest of the four buildings, Google Docks, is the tallest commercial building in Dublin. The other three buildings - Gasworks House, Gordon House, and One Grand Canal - have been either refitted or newly fitted out. The architects have planned a bridge to connect these buildings, encouraging an easy flow between buildings and people.

The design of the campus is a result of in-depth research to create a working atmosphere that reflects Google's unique culture and values. There is a clear separation between traditional desk-based work environments and communication areas, providing privacy and focus for individual work and a variety of spaces for collaboration and idea sharing.

The campus is not just about work. It also houses 5 restaurants, 42 micro kitchens and communication hubs, game rooms, a fitness centre, a pool, wellness areas, a learning and development centre, tech stops, and over 400 informal and formal meeting rooms. This design approach ensures a balance between work and leisure, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity.

The Google Office Campus Dublin is currently awaiting the prestigious LEED Platinum certification, further emphasizing its commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly design. This design has been recognized for its exceptional and highly innovative approach, winning the Platinum A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2014.

In conclusion, the Google Campus Dublin, with its unique blend of form and function, stands as a testament to the spirit of innovation and creativity. It serves as an example of how office spaces can be designed to foster a culture of collaboration and idea sharing, while also providing a stimulating and interactive environment.
