Located in the Central West District, Silks Place Hotel is the first luxury hotel of its kind in Tainan city, the oldest capital of Taiwan since the Ming Dynasty. The design concept of the hotel is inspired by the "OLD ACADEMY," embracing the history and culture of the city.
The designers have brought in literary culture and Minnan style architectural elements to decorate the space, blending traditional materials into the interior. The design traces back to ancient Chinese private college imagery, showcasing generous textures and artifacts that recreate the literary culture and pass down the creative arts.
The hotel's interior reflects the elegance and sophistication of ancient scholars, creating a unique atmosphere that transports guests to a bygone era. The use of traditional materials and decorative elements adds a touch of authenticity to the space, while the modern design elements provide a contemporary twist.
By seamlessly blending tradition and modernity, Silks Place Hotel offers a truly unique experience for its guests. The design not only pays homage to the rich history and culture of Tainan but also creates a space that is both visually stunning and comfortable.
The Silks Place Hotel design by Chang Chinping and Yeh Minchien has been recognized for its excellence and innovation. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2015 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill, evoking positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
