Gignit: A Sculptural and Functional Collection of Coffee and Side Tables

Nature and Human Contrasts Come Together in this Exquisite Design

Inspired by the beauty of nature and the ever-changing seasons, the Gignit collection by Spaceroom Design is a stunning example of contemporary art deco. With its unique combination of materials and asymmetrical design, these coffee and side tables bring together functionality and aesthetics in perfect harmony.

The Gignit collection stands out with its distinctive blend of contrasting materials. The rosewood and black Parapan volumetric components are supported by a stainless steel structure, creating a sense of balance and elegance. The tables' imperfect and asymmetric design adds to their charm, making them a true work of art.

What sets the Gignit collection apart is its ability to link nature to the human process. Each table is a testament to the constant mutation and creation that occurs in both the natural world and the realm of design. By breaking boundaries and embracing imperfections, Spaceroom Design has created something truly unique and exclusive.

The Gignit tables are not only visually striking but also highly functional. The rounded triangle table features a stainless steel structure painted in golden nickel, with rosewood and black Parapan tops. One of the tops has a lower part with a frame surrounding it, turning it into a non-removable tray. The varying heights and thicknesses of the tops create a floating illusion, adding to the tables' visual appeal.

The Gignit collection offers a range of sizes to suit different spaces and needs. The Gignit I is a low coffee table measuring 1200 x 1200 x 450 mm (WxDxH), with other available heights of 400 mm and 360 mm. The Gignit II is a rectangular coffee table measuring 450 x 1050 x 520 mm (WxDxH), with other available heights of 400 mm. The Gignit III is a side table measuring 600 x 500 x 300 mm (WxDxH), with other available heights of 500 mm.

Spaceroom Design embarked on the Gignit project in June 2014 and completed it in September 2014. The conceptualization and realization of the design took place in Portugal, where the team drew inspiration from various sources, including nature, Greek and Roman cultures, and modern designers like Le Corbusier and Philippe Starck.

Throughout the development of the Gignit collection, the designers faced challenges in ensuring stability and finding the right balance of materials. However, their passion, technical expertise, and collaborative effort resulted in a harmonious and visually stunning collection.

The Gignit collection has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2015, which celebrates well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. This accolade is a testament to the Gignit collection's ability to integrate industry best practices and deliver a fulfilling and positive experience.

With its sculptural form and impeccable craftsmanship, the Gignit collection is a testament to the power of design to transform spaces and evoke emotions. Whether placed in a living room, lounge, or any other setting, these tables are sure to make a statement and enrich the overall aesthetic.
