Office Space Design by MALVI

Astor Hellas, a leading wholesale international trading company in the Greek market, approached MALVI to design their new headquarters in Thessaloniki. The goal was to create an office space that would reflect the company's values and brand position as market leaders. The result is the Astor Hellas HQ, a unique and innovative workspace that promotes communication and collaboration.

To break away from the rigidity of the building's rectangular floor plan, MALVI decided to fragment the space into energetic volumes. This design choice not only makes each office area appear larger but also creates a sense of connectivity between different divisions. The use of transparent elements allows for direct visual communication between employees, enhancing collaboration and teamwork.

The Astor Hellas HQ stands out with its unique features and strengths. The transparencies in the design create an illusion of a much bigger space, while also promoting a sense of openness and transparency within the company. The use of softer and sound-absorbing materials helps to eliminate environmental noise, providing a work-friendly environment. Additionally, storage spaces and amenities are cleverly hidden behind wood-clad walls, ensuring a clutter-free and visually appealing workplace.

MALVI overcame various challenges during the design process, particularly in addressing potential reverberation issues caused by the glass divisions. By incorporating sound-absorbing materials throughout the space, such as cubicle dividers and flooring, they were able to create a productive and noise-free environment. The result is an office space that not only meets the functional needs of Astor Hellas but also reflects their corporate identity and values.

The Astor Hellas HQ has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2015 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award highlights the innovative and creative nature of the design, as well as its technical excellence and remarkable artistic skill.
