In the world of water packaging, a new design is making waves. The I-Cube, created by renowned designer Hakan Gürsu, is a game-changer in the industry. This innovative water bottle aims to replace traditional polycarbonate and glass water packages, offering a lightweight and compact alternative that prioritizes convenience and sustainability.

What sets the I-Cube apart from its competitors is its unique shape. By employing a supercircle profile, this water bottle saves space and energy by carrying more water in the same base area than traditional cylindrical bottles. This means that users can enjoy the same amount of water while taking up less space in their bags or backpacks.

But the I-Cube's benefits don't stop there. One of its standout features is the use of a new, BPA-free plastic material developed by Sasa Polyester. This material not only ensures the bottle's durability and hygiene but also promotes sustainability. To further enhance its eco-friendly credentials, the I-Cube eliminates the need for adhesive labels by utilizing a recyclable carrying sleeve with customizable graphics.

The I-Cube is available in three sizes - 10, 15, and 19 liters - and comes with a convenient carrying sleeve. The product is delivered through the water brand and can be easily refilled at the end of use, thanks to its deposit system. This system not only encourages reuse but also contributes to reducing single-use plastic waste.

The I-Cube project was completed in Ankara between 2013-2014, with a duration of six months. During this time, extensive research was conducted to understand existing water consumption patterns and identify areas for improvement. The aim was to create a water package that not only offers a better performance but also encourages behavior change and provides a market advantage for the brand.

The I-Cube's innovative design has not gone unnoticed. In 2015, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category. This prestigious accolade recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, while also contributing to improvements in quality of life.
