Brilliant Slit: A Unique and Mystical Ring Design

A Simple Ring with a Twist

The Brilliant Slit ring is part of a collection that draws inspiration from unwrapping and peeling concepts, such as unwrapping a gift or peeling fruits. Mirzamohammadi wanted to capture the idea of getting to the valuable core of something by slitting it open. The result is a ring that not only showcases its beautiful diamonds but also creates the illusion of more gemstones hidden beneath its surface.

What sets the Brilliant Slit ring apart is its organic-looking cut that reveals the ring's inner beauty. By pulling back one side of the cut, the wearer can see the black plated gold prong settings and white brilliant cut diamonds. The colors of the gold plating and diamonds vary in different models, adding to the uniqueness of each ring. The design cleverly showcases a few brilliant-cut gems where the surface is cut open, creating the illusion of a treasure trove of gemstones beneath the ring's body.

The realization of the Brilliant Slit ring involves the use of Gemvision Matrix 8.0 for modeling. The ring is crafted from 18K yellow and white gold, with 17 pieces of 0.02 Ct white brilliant cut diamonds. The attention to detail and craftsmanship ensure that each ring is a work of art.

The development of the Brilliant Slit ring presented its fair share of challenges. The most significant hurdle was finding the right way to place the diamonds inside the ring to create the illusion that they were already there. After some trial and error, Mirzamohammadi designed the bottom part of the ring to be separable, allowing for a clear path to insert the diamond settings from underneath, where they are not visible to the eye.

The Brilliant Slit ring project began in late December 2014 in Tehran, Iran, and is now in its final production phase. It is expected to be available in the market by April 2015. With its unique design and captivating illusion, the Brilliant Slit ring is sure to be a sought-after piece of jewelry.
