The Arcelik Industrial Design Team has introduced VUX, a groundbreaking innovation that transforms the way we interact with kitchen appliances. By utilizing light projection technology, VUX creates a virtual control surface that revolutionizes appliance control and enhances the overall kitchen experience.

One of the key features of VUX is its ability to project a user interface onto different areas of the worktop. This allows users to control networked devices such as the dishwasher, hob, and hood from a central interface. By simply using hand gestures, users can move the user interface to different areas of the worktop, depending on their needs.

With VUX, the traditional buttons and screens of kitchen appliances are eliminated. Instead, a projected menu is displayed on the kitchen countertop, expanding the limits of the interaction area and increasing flexibility. The menus of the appliances can be expanded and collapsed according to usage scenarios, providing a seamless and intuitive control experience.

VUX goes beyond traditional appliance control by guiding users on proper pan placement. The system can detect whether an object is a pan or not, and it guides users on where to place the pan when the hob is turned on. Additionally, VUX deactivates the heating unit if a pan is removed from the hob area, ensuring cooking efficiency and safety. Hot surfaces are also highlighted to further enhance user security.

During operation, VUX displays remaining time and follower information, allowing users to pause or cancel the process as needed. This feature provides users with real-time feedback and control over their cooking processes, making it easier to manage and monitor their kitchen activities.

VUX has garnered recognition for its exceptional design and innovation. In 2015, it was awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Interface, Interaction, and User Experience Design category.
