The design of ALD House revolves around two main volumes: a black metal prism and a cantilevered wooden cube. The black metal prism, with glass fronts, creates transparency and a connection to nature, while the wooden cube adds a touch of warmth and provides a terrace underneath. The use of glass and natural materials allows for a quick reading of the volumes, emphasizing simplicity and elegance.
One of the standout features of ALD House is the integration of art throughout the design. A hyper-realistic 2 x 6 m painting of a Porsche 78 takes center stage in a double-height space, becoming an integral part of the architecture. Additionally, a mural designed by Juan Carlos Baumgartner serves as both the visual end of the swimming pool and the entrance vestibule, further blurring the lines between art and design.
ALD House also prioritizes sustainability and environmental consciousness. The materials used in the project have low or zero VOC emissions, ensuring excellent indoor air quality. Recycled and quickly renewable materials are utilized whenever possible, and water-based and VOC-free sealers, paints, and adhesives are chosen. The design also incorporates natural light and outside views for each employee, promoting a healthy and inspiring work environment.
The project, which started in January 2013 and was completed in May 2013, showcases the passion and love for architectural endeavor. ALD House is not just a house; it is a container that fosters communication, teamwork, and reflects the values and beliefs of the organization.
ALD House has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2016 in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the exceptional expertise and innovation demonstrated in the design, as well as its strong technical characteristics and artistic skill. ALD House truly embodies excellence and evokes positive emotions, amazement, and wonder.
