Post-it Colleague Care Kit: Spreading Positivity in the Workplace

A Humorous Approach to Office Politics

Office politics can be a source of stress and negativity in any work environment. However, the Post-it Colleague Care Kit, designed by Lawrens Tan, Cindy Gan, and Phoebe Chang, aims to turn this common phenomenon into a lighthearted and comical experience. By embracing the work environment and promoting positivity, this kit encourages individuals to brighten their colleagues' days and foster a happier workplace.

The Post-it Colleague Care Kit is a unique campaign that combines humor, practicality, and engagement. The designers have reimagined the usual laundry icons, adding a touch of office politics to create a tongue-in-cheek twist. For example, instead of the typical "Do Not Bleach" symbol, the kit features a "Do Not Bitch" icon. This playful approach injects humor into the workplace and helps to diffuse tension.

One of the key features of the kit is the ability to send motivation quotes to fellow colleagues. The kit includes instructions on how to motivate your colleagues and a set of Post-it Notes that can be easily attached to any surface in the office. Whether it's a sweet note on a computer screen or a positive message on a coffee cup, these small gestures can make a big difference in brightening someone's day.

In addition to the motivational aspect, the kit also includes a reusable cotton canvas tote bag. This bag not only serves as a practical item for carrying documents and lunches but also adds a touch of style to the workplace. With its double-sided printing and apparel-like label tag, the tote bag exudes a wearable look, making it a fashionable accessory for office-goers.

The designers have also incorporated a social media element into the kit. A Post-it photo frame is included, allowing individuals to take selfies and "welfies" with their colleagues. These photos can then be shared on Instagram with the hashtag #postitforwardsg, creating a positive log of all the happy moments and spreading the cheer further.

The Post-it Colleague Care Kit was conceptualized in October 2014 and completed in January 2015. Production was finalized in early February, and the campaign was launched later that month. The kit was initially distributed to media friends, channel distributors, and as giveaways at roadshows.

Recognizing its excellence and innovation, the Post-it Colleague Care Kit was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, creativity, and technical characteristics. The kit's unique approach to office politics, its practicality, and its ability to create a happier workplace were all factors that contributed to its recognition.

The Post-it Colleague Care Kit is a testament to the power of positivity and the importance of fostering a supportive work environment. By embracing humor and engagement, this kit encourages individuals to spread positive vibes and make their colleagues' days brighter. With its unique design and practical features, it is a must-have for anyone looking to create a more enjoyable and productive workplace.
