The inspiration behind ADINA came from the need for a more efficient and user-friendly makeup experience. By integrating a touch interface and a high-quality camera, ADINA prioritizes ease of use and user satisfaction. The device creates realistic images of human faces, allowing users to see how different makeup looks would appear on their own faces.

One of the key strengths of ADINA lies in its image processing technology and augmented reality capabilities. Users can simulate and experiment with various makeup looks, including lips, lip liner, eye shadow, and brow, both as a whole and in intricate detail. The device also offers fast and efficient real-time processing of changing images and motion images, providing users with a seamless and immersive experience.

ADINA is equipped with top-of-the-line technology to ensure optimal performance. It features a Full HD 1080p camera for high-quality video recording and enhanced photo resolution. The lens, provided by Carl Zeiss, offers 20-point autofocus and a wide field of view. The device is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and has 8GB of DDR3 RAM, providing smooth and efficient operation. The graphics processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT 840A GDDR5, ensures stunning visuals and seamless augmented reality experiences.

ADINA's sleek and compact design makes it perfect for both personal and professional use. With dimensions of 700mm x 30mm x 390mm, it is lightweight and portable, making it ideal for on-the-go makeup application. The device's outer body is designed to be resistant to scratches and light, ensuring durability and a sophisticated aesthetic.

Operating ADINA is simple and intuitive. Upon starting the device, users are greeted with the ADINA software, which detects the camera components and offers a menu for face makeup. Users can choose from a variety of tools and colors, and augmented reality techniques are applied to the images in real time. A scroll bar allows users to adjust the intensity of the color, providing further customization options. Users can capture, manage, and edit their makeup images, and easily share them with others.

The ADINA project began in January 2014 and was completed in May 2015 in Tehran. Extensive research was conducted to develop the image processing algorithms and evaluate the suitability of augmented reality technology. The design team, led by Mostafa Arvand and advised by Sepideh Golgoon, overcame various creative, technical, and research challenges to bring ADINA to life.

ADINA has received recognition for its outstanding design and innovation. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Interface, Interaction, and User Experience Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional expertise, innovation, and artistic skill. ADINA's remarkable technical characteristics and ability to evoke positive emotions make it a true standout in the industry.
