Global One: A Fusion of Modernist Design and High Technology

Office Space Redefined

Global One, designed by Vadim Kondrashev, is an office space that seamlessly combines the aesthetics of 20th-century design with modern high technology. Inspired by the famous Villa Tugendhat by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, this project redefines the concept of an office by integrating contemporary art and creating a unique experience for its occupants.

The main concept behind Global One is the creation of an enfilade, a series of interconnected rooms, and the careful arrangement of functional areas. The design allows for a smooth movement from art objects to scenic horizons, providing a sense of flow and harmony throughout the space.

What sets Global One apart is its emphasis on art and aesthetics. The office space doubles as a contemporary art gallery, with a curated selection of art objects seamlessly integrated into the interior. From a sculptural panel by Zaha Hadid to paintings by Le Corbusier, every piece has been carefully chosen to enhance the overall ambiance of the office.

The use of natural materials such as dark wood, travertine, opaque glass, and chrome creates a contrast that adds to the visual appeal of the space. To ensure a lightweight structure, all surfaces have been illuminated and secured with aluminum honeycomb, reminiscent of yachting design principles.

With a total area of 1,500 square meters, Global One offers executive offices and apartments, meeting rooms, a reception area, working spaces, and offices for Wooden Fish and Yota Devices companies. Located on the 39th floor of the Moscow-City International Business Centre, the office provides a panoramic view of the city.

The design of Global One not only focuses on aesthetics but also on functionality. Every possible interaction between associates, guests, and clients has been taken into account, resulting in a well-organized and efficient office environment.

The project, which started in 2014 and was completed in August 2015, faced several challenges. The polygonal configuration of the floor, low ceilings, and massive building columns posed obstacles that required innovative solutions. The architects managed to turn these disadvantages into advantages by creating an open-plan layout and a sense of spatial and aesthetic lightness.

Global One sets the trend for the future of office design. By integrating modern technologies into a classic Modernist layout, it achieves a perfect balance between airiness, respectability, and status. The seamless coexistence of an office and an art gallery makes it a true representation of 20th-century classics in architecture and design.

Global One was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2016 for its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence. This prestigious accolade recognizes designs that showcase strong technical characteristics and exceptional artistic skill, evoking positive emotions and wonder.
