Contemporary Minimalism Villa

Residential House

The Contemporary Minimalism Villa, designed by Max Lam, is a unique and innovative residential house that combines art, nature, and sustainability. Located at the Peak, this duplex apartment offers a serene and organic living space that is far removed from the hectic urban environment.

The design of the Contemporary Minimalism Villa is inspired by the concept of art galleries, where simplicity and minimalism are key. The designer, Max Lam, took this inspiration and implemented a minimal style in this project, focusing on clean lines and a simple structure. The lighting design plays a crucial role in creating a cozy and comfortable ambiance throughout the space.

One of the unique features of this design is the seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The spacious living room and kitchen open up to the surrounding nature, capturing the greenery and maximizing the view. The glass accordion door not only allows for a breathtaking view of the outdoors but also adds continuity and fluidity to the space when fully opened.

The interior of the Contemporary Minimalism Villa is characterized by simplicity and elegance. The use of black, white, and grey as the basic color tones, along with the clean horizontal and straight lines, creates a minimalist and contemporary atmosphere. The furniture and furnishings are carefully selected to complement the simple structure and reflect the owner's fine taste.

Flexibility is another key aspect of this design. Instead of erected walls, functional partitions are used to increase the diversity of the space. Sliding doors separate the living room and multi-function room when necessary, while glass sliding doors facilitate the interaction of space in the study. This flexibility allows for a customizable living environment that can adapt to the changing needs of the residents.

The lighting design in the Contemporary Minimalism Villa is a focal point. Different lighting techniques are used to create ambient lighting as well as functional lighting for the art pieces and the environment. The combination of these lighting effects enhances the space and adds to the overall atmosphere of the villa.

The Contemporary Minimalism Villa was realized using advanced technology and design tools. The design concept was projected on 3D rendering using 3D Max, and all construction drawings were created using AutoCAD. The home automation system plays a crucial role in controlling all electronic devices, providing convenience and fulfilling the homeowner's request for a modern and efficient living space.

This two-storeyed house spans 2800 square feet and features a spacious living room, dining room, semi-open kitchen, store room, guest room, study room, three kids' rooms, and a master bedroom. Each bedroom has its own individual washroom, and the design of the kids' rooms is versatile to accommodate their changing needs.

The Contemporary Minimalism Villa is a testament to the designer's creativity and attention to detail. It seamlessly combines art, nature, and sustainability to create a unique and inspiring living space. This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2016, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics.
