Grow'n Up R&D Team's Multifunctional Play Center Wins Platinum A' Design Award

The Qwikflip 6-IN-1 Activity Center is not just a toy, but a tool for enhancing children's gross motor skills and eye-hand coordination. The design team drew inspiration from the need for multifunctional toys that promote active play and social skills among children. The result is a play center that can convert to a basketball set or slide mode in seconds, with no tools required.

One of the unique properties of this design is its versatility. The Grow'n Up R&D Team has managed to combine six different play features into one compact unit. The product dimensions vary depending on the mode: in basketball mode, it measures L32” x W27.6” x H47.4”, while in slide mode, it measures L41.1” x W27.56” x H24.9”.

Despite the complexity of the design, the Qwikflip 6-IN-1 Activity Center is easy to operate. With just a press of a button on each side of the slide, it converts to basketball mode. The design project, which started in Spring 2014 and was completed by mid-2015, was carried out in Hong Kong.

The design process was not without its challenges. The team had to ensure that the activity center was not only fun and safe for children but also promoted their motor development. Activities that support gross motor development include climbing up to the slide, pitching ball, T-ball hitting, basketball shooting, and crawling tunnel. Fine motor skills are encouraged through fitting the ball to the T-ball holder, hitting the golf ball, and attaching the golf club and baseball bat to the center.

The Qwikflip 6-IN-1 Activity Center is a testament to the Grow'n Up R&D Team's commitment to creating innovative, multifunctional toys that promote active play and motor development in children. The design, which is currently pending patents and copyrights, has been recognized with a Platinum A' Design Award, a testament to its exceptional design and contribution to societal wellbeing.
