Nestled in an 800 square feet space, Ascended Ply, designed by A-Industrial Design / BUild, is a stunning example of innovative architecture and design. The project, located in Studio City, California, stands out with its unique blend of materials and geometric elements.

The entryway to Ascended Ply is setback into a patio, creating an escape from the bustling streetscape. The patio walls are paneled with Baltic Birch wooden geometry, creating a striking contrast against the black monolithic stucco massing. A pivoting storefront glass door adds a touch of elegance and allows natural light to flood the space.

Inside, the geometrical wall paneling continues, drawing attention to the height and ceiling architecture and compensating for the narrow width of the space. The use of raw materials and exposed joists adds a touch of industrial charm, while a skylight washes the space with natural light.

One of the standout features of Ascended Ply is the backlit wall paneling. Warm LED lights illuminate the paneling, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Not only does it enhance the aesthetics of the space, but patrons have also noted that the paneling has acoustical properties that help subdue outside noise, creating a peaceful environment.

A-Industrial Design / BUild streamlined the project delivery method through their in-house design and build process structure. Collaborating closely with the client, they created a warm and inviting space with clean modern lines. The construction drawings were approved by the Department of Building and Safety and the County Department of Public Health, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Ascended Ply is not just a design marvel; it is also an award-winning project. In 2016, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
