Juruney Time: A Unique Residential House Design

Exploring the Essence of Life and Self-Centered Value

The main space of Juruney Time serves as evidence of self-existence, emphasizing the significance of personal growth and self-discovery. The design aims to add color and richness to the journey of life, making it a practice of art and a verification of personal growth.

What sets Juruney Time apart is its unique approach to spatial layout. Unlike traditional two-dimensional schemas, the design incorporates the principles of 2.5D perspective to explore the convergence of different orientations. By utilizing light penetration through building windows, the design creates linear spectral wavelengths and shadow mappings on the walls. This allows for the deployment of different functional attributes, maximizing the daylighting area in each space and employing painting composition techniques.

The realization of Juruney Time involves the coating of beam columns in the original structure to achieve minimal coverage area tolerance values. The design incorporates a continuous rhythm segmentation, parent-child hierarchy parameter setting, and the formation of action trajectories to record the dynamic shape changes of time slices. The ceiling panels and components generate a visual representation of the passage of time.

The walls of the corridor in Juruney Time bear traces of sandstone, capturing the play of light and shadow over time. This design element adds depth and a sense of history to the space, further enhancing the overall experience.

Juruney Time spans an area of 198 sqm and was completed between March 2014 and July 2015. The design process involved extensive research, focusing on the combination of environmental factors, space, people, and art. By pondering the layout of the space, the design achieves a balance between simplicity and complexity, resulting in a breakthrough design that resonates with the essence of life.

The challenges faced during the creation of Juruney Time were overcome by the innovative use of the 2.5D perspective principle and the exploration of spatial convergence. By combining different orientations and utilizing light penetration, the design successfully deployed various functional attributes, maximizing the use of daylighting in each space.

Juruney Time is a testament to the creativity and resourcefulness of YU,PIN-CHI TSAI,YAO-MOU. This unique residential house design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2016 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
