Reimagining the Concept of Beauty Parlours

The salon, located in the postindustrial building of Zoliborz district in Warsaw, is designed to resemble a real-life apartment. The space is adorned with a careful mix of furniture, lighting, textures, and colors, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Renowned designer brands such as Gervasoni 1882, Gubi, Vitra, and Fornasetti are showcased throughout the salon, adding a touch of sophistication and style.

One of the standout features of this design is the separate VIP area, specially tailored for the salon's esteemed clients. This exclusive space is fitted slightly differently than the rest of the salon, providing a sense of appreciation and privacy for VIPs. The use of oak wooden floors and wall panels, along with Barrisol stretched panels and light rails, adds a touch of elegance and luxury to the overall design.

The design team, Mood Works - Dorota Kuc & Karina Snuszka, conducted in-depth interviews with the salon's owner, staff, and existing and potential clients to fully understand their needs and requirements. This research, combined with historical resources and materials, allowed the team to create a space that is not only visually appealing but also functional for staff, customers, and the general public.

The hair salon's unique design and competitive offerings have attracted people from all over Warsaw to visit and shop in this particular location. The salon has become a popular destination, not only for its services but also for its aesthetic appeal. The quality and uniqueness of the space have even made it an attractive location for commercial productions.

In 2016, this innovative hair salon design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
