Wildgree: A Durable and Eco-Friendly Packaging Design

An Innovative Solution for Deepmountain's Wooden Wallets

Wildgree stands out from other packaging designs with its focus on durability and functionality. The package consists of five layers of recycled corrugated cardboard, providing ample protection for the product. The layers are carefully arranged to create a negative space that perfectly fits the wooden wallet, establishing an organic and simple relationship between the product and its packaging.

The key feature of Wildgree is the use of a bolt nut to hold the layers in place. This not only ensures a secure closure but also creates a distinctive and easy opening mechanism. To open the package, the green sticker is cut, and the bolt nut allows the top layer of cardboard to twist to the side, revealing the contents within.

Wildgree's production process is both eco-friendly and cost-effective. The main material used is recycled corrugated cardboard, sourced from discarded cardboard pieces and packages. By repurposing these materials, Wildgree contributes to the reduction of waste and promotes a greener planet. The print on the package is applied using digital printing technology, further enhancing its sustainability.

With dimensions of 140mm in width, 19mm in depth, and 140mm in height, Wildgree is designed to perfectly accommodate Deepmountain's wooden wallets while maintaining a compact and sleek appearance.

The development of Wildgree began in November 2015 and was completed in February 2016 in Bodrum. Throughout the design process, the team faced the challenge of creating an aesthetically pleasing package that could withstand worldwide shipping, all while keeping production costs low. The use of a single bolt nut as the closure mechanism proved to be an innovative solution, ensuring both durability and ease of use.

Wildgree's design is a testament to the power of reusing materials and embracing sustainable practices. By utilizing recycled corrugated cardboard, this packaging design not only provides a practical and protective solution but also contributes to a cleaner and greener environment.
