The design of Club Sukru Dudu was inspired by three key aspects: the customer profile and their behaviors, the location of the rental space, and the client's attitude towards their work. The goal was to create a space where customers not only receive a careful hairdressing service but also have a place to take a break and relax in their daily routines. To achieve this, the design incorporates intimate, semi-intimate, and public spaces, each with different functions and a diverse selection of equipment and materials.
The design team utilized various materials to bring the concept to life. Acrylic surfaces were used for countertops due to their durability, while wood veneer and lacquered MDF were chosen for the furniture pieces. CNC milled perforated panels were used to divide the different spaces, adding a touch of visual interest.
One of the challenges faced during the project was the coordination of the construction site, design team, client, and landlord within a tight timeframe. The local regulations of Zorlu Center, where the hairdresser is located, had to be carefully analyzed and adhered to. Additionally, all the work had to be done during night shifts to comply with noise limit regulations.
The design of Club Sukru Dudu has received recognition for its excellence. In 2016, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, contributing to a better world.
Club Sukru Dudu stands out as an outstanding hairdresser in Istanbul, catering to a variety of customers, from businessmen to celebrities. The careful attitude towards service is reflected in the choice of materials and color scheme. Sparkling and shiny metal finishes are combined with dark marble flooring, creating an intimate and charming space. Black lacquered furniture pieces add to the overall ambiance, while wood is used as a complementary material to emphasize the central axis and add warmth to the design.
Overall, Club Sukru Dudu, designed by Idea Architecture, offers a unique and inviting hairdressing experience. Its attention to detail, use of quality materials, and focus on creating a relaxing atmosphere make it a standout destination for customers seeking more than just a haircut.
