The unique properties of Lips lie in its minimal color palette of white, black, and red. The boldness of the red helps connote the name of the restaurant, while the use of minimal colors creates a chic and hipster environment. The dining area, a long room furnished with modern-style chairs and tables, is complemented by a mirror wall on one side. This not only enhances the space but also creates a sense of infinity in the room.
The realization of Lips involved the use of various materials such as bricks, tiles, 3m stickers, timber, metal, aluminum cladding, wood, and plastic laminate. These materials were carefully selected to bring the Pop Art theme to life.
With an open bar connecting to the indoor dining area, Lips offers a seamless flow of visitors' circulation and better operation planning. The same color palette is used throughout the restaurant to maintain consistency and showcase the connection between the different areas.
Located at G/F, 403-405 Queen's Road West, Western District, Lips was a project that presented its fair share of challenges. The narrow dining area with a high ceiling level required creative solutions, which led to the use of mirrors to play around with the space. Balancing the mood and functionality between the outdoor and indoor areas was another challenge, with the open bar area serving as the main connection point.
Lips is a spatial experience for customers, combining ceiling features and full-height mirrors to enhance the space. The use of bricks creates a void for the 3m stickers, resulting in a visually striking 3D effect that catches the eye from the outside.
This Pop Art themed restaurant, with its minimal but bold colors and attention to detail, offers a unique dining experience. Inspired by American diners, Lips creates a chic and hipster environment that transports customers back in time.
