Sprocket: A Unique Lighting Fixture Chandelier by Maurice L. Dery

A Scaled Replica of a Gear and Chain

The Sprocket light is a one-of-a-kind design that takes inspiration from mechanical gears and chains. Designed by Maurice L. Dery, this lighting fixture chandelier combines industrial aesthetics with energy-efficient LED technology to create a truly unique piece.

The Sprocket light stands out from other lighting fixtures due to its distinctive design and innovative features. The illumination of this product is provided by energy-efficient LEDs, ensuring both sustainability and longevity. What sets it apart is the custom isolators that were specifically designed and developed for this project. These isolators allow the light fixture to be suspended without any visible power cords, giving it a floating appearance.

The chain portion of the Sprocket light is modular, allowing for different layouts and configurations. Each link in the chain is equipped with LEDs, creating a mesmerizing visual effect when the light is turned on. The ability to manipulate the chain adds a level of versatility to the design, allowing users to customize the look and feel of the fixture to suit their space.

The Sprocket light is meticulously crafted using high-quality materials and advanced manufacturing techniques. The gear component is made from steel sheet, with each tooth carefully bent to mimic the exact shape. The chain components, on the other hand, are made from aluminum and cut using an OMAX waterjet machining center. The LEDs are mounted on custom brackets, ensuring precise placement and optimal lighting performance.

Measuring approximately 10 ft x 10 ft x 8 in (3048 mm x 3048 mm x 203 mm), the Sprocket light is a statement piece that demands attention. Its size and unique design make it a focal point in any space, whether it's a residential living room or a commercial establishment.

The Sprocket light was conceptualized in November 2015, with the final product being realized in March 2016. All design and manufacturing processes took place at Maurice L. Dery's facility in Surrey, BC, Canada. The attention to detail and craftsmanship that went into creating this masterpiece is evident in every aspect of the design.

The Sprocket light has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate innovation, practicality, and adherence to professional and industrial standards.

With its unique blend of industrial aesthetics and cutting-edge LED technology, the Sprocket light is a testament to Maurice L. Dery's creativity and craftsmanship. It is a lighting fixture chandelier that not only illuminates a space but also adds a touch of artistry and sophistication.
