The design of the hotel is characterized by a harmonious blend of traditional Chinese elements and contemporary Western design. The lobby, adorned with a living wall and a row of bird cages, creates a tranquil atmosphere. The use of bird cages, water vats, and abacus throughout the space is a nod to the profound essence of Chinese culture.
The hotel's restaurant, Yuese, is a testament to YANG's ingenious design approach. The use of lodgepole pines, living walls, water surfaces, honed stones, and wooden furnishings brings the essence of nature into the hotel, creating an ambiance reminiscent of a vast forest. The restaurant's partition screen, made from abacus - one of China's intangible heritage, serves as a functional and aesthetic element, separating the space without cutting it off.
The design of the hotel was constrained by the original architectural pattern of the old factory. However, YANG's innovative solutions, such as the 20 meters long desk at the entrance and the 360-rotating all-in-one wardrobe in the guestrooms, successfully extended the sight and maximized the usage of the space. The rooftop was ingeniously transformed into an outdoor bar, further enhancing the hotel's appeal.
The hotel, with a total building area of about 8,800 square meters, includes 85 guest rooms, a 400-square-meter ballroom, a Chinese restaurant, an all-day dining restaurant, a heated swimming pool, and a gym. Each room, taking an area of over 45 square meters, ensures the comfort of the guests. The use of floor-to-ceiling glasses in place of walls facing the sun brings in natural sunlight and broadens the sight, creating an open and inviting atmosphere.
The Shenzhen Hui Hotel design project was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. The award is a testament to YANG's outstanding expertise and innovation, and the design's strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill. The project is not only an international interpretation of oriental culture but also a contemporary high-end luxury boutique hotel benchmark.
