The Natural Healing Workshop is a testament to the designer's commitment to creating a space that promotes contentment and security. The office is enclosed by ubiquitous greenery and plants in a courtyard, where Lee has delicately created a water-preserved and chill ecosystem. This ecosystem is not only visually appealing but also serves as a habitat for various species of insects and birds, thereby fostering a unique ecological community.
One of the standout features of this office design is a delicately designed bar on the other side of the courtyard. This versatile space can function as a cooking, eating, or meeting place. This smartly-designed compound outdoor space addresses the issue of limited indoor space while allowing occupants to enjoy the intimate natural environment.
The ground floor of the building, mainly composed of the working and meeting areas, features a long rectangular table that magnifies the visual effect within the confined space. Large ceiling windows and iron works separate the indoor and outdoor spaces, extending the indoor atmosphere to the beautiful courtyard. This design choice fosters a close relationship between people and the natural environment by bringing outdoor scenery inside the building.
Two tall royal Poinciana trees adorn the courtyard, along with a variety of medium and small plants, creating a stunning landscape. A specific area of the courtyard features a wooden platform and large couches, creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. This 182-square-meter office is a perfect example of how design can be used to create a harmonious blend of work and nature.
In conclusion, Pei-Ying Lee's Natural Healing Workshop is a shining example of innovative office design. By integrating elements of nature into the workspace, Lee has created an environment that promotes well-being and productivity. This design serves as a reminder that office spaces can be more than just functional – they can also be beautiful, inspiring, and in harmony with nature.
