Yueming Qin's Award-Winning Design: Huafa City Hub Wuhan Sales Center

Embodying the Essence of Water in Architecture

The design of the Huafa City Hub Wuhan Sales Center is deeply rooted in the local culture of Wuhan, a city linked by rivers, lakes, and pools. The designer, Yueming Qin, was inspired by the sparkling ripples in the East Lake after rain, leading to the creation of a natural space with water as the theme. The design aims to reflect the city's unique geographical environment, its history, and humanity, nurtured by water for thousands of years.

The sales center, located in Wuhan’s new Central Business District (CBD), includes a commercial plaza, hotel, office building, luxury residential, and apartment. The challenge was to reflect the uniqueness and influence of the city in the sales center, while conveying the project's uniqueness and quality to the guests. The solution was found in the theme of 'water'.

The character of water, in its moving and motionlessness, is embodied and absorbed into the space naturally. Both real interior and exterior waterscapes, rooftops, walls and screens, and even lightings, artworks, murals, and ornaments have been turned into vivid carriers of water. These objectified images of water evoke the visitors' inner response to beautiful moments.

The design of the sales center is realized using main materials such as white jade with straight grain, resin plate, wood veneer, and leather; stainless steel. The whole interior space, from both sides of the entrance to the exterior and interior waterscape, is constructed in the theme of ‘water’. The wave texture of the stone used on the hall lobby wall echoes with its upper horizontal lines, creating a sense of rhythm for the whole visiting streamline.

The Huafa City Hub Wuhan Sales Center is a testament to Yueming Qin's ability to integrate local culture into design, creating a space that not only serves its purpose but also resonates with the city's history and geographical environment. The design's recognition with the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017 further cements Yueming Qin's position as a designer of prodigious talent and wisdom.
