RONALD SASSON's Carybe: A Tribute to Art and Comfort

Armchair Design Inspired by Hector Julio Paride Bernabe's Bahian Lifestyle

Inspired by the contemplative and tranquil lifestyle of Argentine artist Hector Julio Paride Bernabe, RONALD SASSON's Carybe armchair is a tribute to art and comfort. The armchair's high back and generous volumes synthesize this symbiosis, creating a unique piece of furniture that stands out in any setting.

RONALD SASSON's Carybe armchair is a unique piece of furniture that stands out due to its solid wood structure and natural linen accent. The armchair is designed for both home and business use, offering ergonomics, resistance, technology, comfort, and innovation. The design is timeless, reminiscent of the old armchairs of the 50s and 60s, but with a lighter appearance, which is the result of its apparent wood structure and informal seat.

The Carybe armchair was realized using machining technology and folding of solid wood, with manual upholstery. The project lasted three months and was carried out in Sao Marcos, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The research for the design focused on the processes of cutting and folding of solid wood and less apparent fixation systems. The challenge was to be able to make the turns without breaking the fragile fold points.

The armchair measures 935mm in width, 900mm in depth, and 1000mm in height. It is big enough to work alone in a room, making it a statement piece in any setting. The main materials used in the design are Brazilian solid wood and natural linen, adding to its aesthetic appeal and comfort.

The Carybe armchair design is a winner of the prestigious A' Design Award in 2017. The Silver A' Design Award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.

In conclusion, RONALD SASSON's Carybe armchair is a unique piece of furniture that pays tribute to the Bahian lifestyle of Argentine artist Hector Julio Paride Bernabe. Its solid wood structure, natural linen accent, and timeless design make it a standout piece in any setting. Its award-winning design is a testament to RONALD SASSON's creativity and innovation in furniture design.
