Juliana Pippi's clients had a vision for a home that was not just aesthetically pleasing, but also incorporated elements of design, art, and natural materials. The architecture, perfectly situated on the land, takes full advantage of the stunning views, with inspiration drawn from the surrounding environment. The clients' children had an active role in the project, contributing their opinions and color choices, while the couple enthusiastically followed Pippi's guidance, resulting in a stylish and unique design.
The living room of Sambaqui features panels that can accommodate a Home Theatre when needed. A generous space was allocated for a piano, placed strategically to face the beautiful view, serving as a source of inspiration for the client. The kitchen, designed with an English style "cute little house" footprint, was a special request from the client who has a fondness for the English style.
The house, spread over two floors and spanning 535 square meters, is a mix of raw and natural materials. Bamboo panels, natural wood floors, and brick walls are the primary materials used in the construction. To contrast and bring life to the spaces, striking colors like raw tones, brown, light green, and blue were used.
The ground floor of Sambaqui consists of six main rooms that can be integrated when necessary by large slice panels, depending on the usage of each environment. The kitchen, dining room, living room, TV room, and terrace are fully integrated with each other and the surrounding nature. The project, which started in August 2014 and finished in November 2015, was a collaborative effort with the clients actively participating in all decisions.
The interior design of Sambaqui is neutral and clear, with natural wood details integrating the landscaping. All the environments are integrated and at the same time can have privacy through the sliding panels that divide the space. The chosen materials are natural such as the wood floor, bamboo panels, brick walls and the cotton in the fabrics of the armchairs and sofa. To contrast and bring life to the environments, striking colors like raw tones, brown, light green and blue were used.
The design of Sambaqui has been recognized for its excellence, earning a Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
