The design process for "Auspicious Cloud" was a symphony in itself, with each stage corresponding to a musical passage: display, experience, communication, and intention. This innovative approach allowed Chao Wang and his team, including Xiaorui Yue, Jing Li, and Xiaolei Chen, to create a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and emotionally engaging.
The building's unique properties lie in its perfect streamlined appearance that combines beauty, comfort, practicality, environmental friendliness, and personalization. The design is a testament to tranquility and minimalism, with its arc structures and artistic elements creating a unique and serene environment.
The realization of this design involved the use of various materials including art texture paint, hand-drawn wallpaper, wood veneer, marble, and crystal brick. Covering an area of 865 square meters, the project was completed in 2018 in Guiyang, China.
One of the key challenges faced during the design process was integrating the relationship among people, architecture, and nature. The design team aimed to interpret natural elements such as mountains, forests, waterfalls, and fields, and integrate material and spiritual resonance with spatial streamline, according to the principle of mutual penetration of geographical and human environment elements and nature.
The "Auspicious Cloud" is a testament to Chao Wang's innovative approach to design, combining natural ecology, art appreciation, science and technology interaction, and international aesthetics to create a space that is not just a building, but a way of life and a way of thinking. It is a design that truly embodies the spirit of the A' Design Award, showcasing outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
