Ferratus Sensations Design: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Emeric Minaya's Award-Winning Wine Label and Packaging Design

In the world of wine, the packaging is as significant as the beverage itself. Emeric Minaya's Ferratus Sensations Design is a testament to this fact, showcasing a unique blend of tradition and modernity. This design, which won the Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2017, is a perfect example of how art, design, and technology can come together to create something truly remarkable.

The Ferratus Sensations Design was inspired by the art of contemporary goldsmithing. The design features fine metal lines that elegantly wrap around the body of the bottle, evoking a sense of sophistication and elegance. The design is a nod to the brand name 'Ferratus', a Latin word meaning 'made with iron'. The influence of jewellery, fashion, and avant-garde architecture is evident in the design, making it a true work of art.

What sets this design apart is its unique and radical graphic identity. The label and packaging represent a confluence of wine and metal, expressed with force and drama. The design is a visual representation of the Ferratus wine brand, a wine from the designation of origin "Ribera del Duero". The metallic lines create a sense of vibration and magnetism, connecting the design with the brand's name and modifying the perception of the product. This connection appeals to a young and sophisticated audience.

The labels are made with a transparent label with silver stamping, adding to the overall elegance of the design. The dimensions of the label are 16 mm in width and 18 mm in height, while the packaging measures 10 mm in width, 10 mm in depth, and 30 mm in height. The design was created by Emeric Minaya, with the project starting in September 2016 in Burgos, Spain, and finishing in February 2017 in Santander, Spain.

The design process involved harmonizing the traditional image of the wine from "Rivera de Duero" with the avant-garde image that characterizes the winery's clientele. The design and the brightness of the silver stamping impact and modify the psychological perception of the wine and the brand. The main challenge was to combine two opposite meanings into a single graphic image - the millennial tradition of Rivera de Duero's wine and the modern, sensual image associated with Ferratus Sensations.

The metal-inspired design is an exercise in style where the author connects the meaning of the word Ferratus, "made of iron," with the design of the brand image. The design of the graphic image, as well as the winery, combines a message of tradition and passion for wine with the modernity and contemporaneity of its audience. This design is a testament to Emeric Minaya's creativity and innovation, and it is no surprise that it was awarded the Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2017.
