Between: A Modern and Classic Residential Interior Design

Combining the Best of Both Worlds

The design team drew inspiration from Chu Teh-Chun's masterpiece, incorporating the flowing shapes and interplay of light and dark into their choice of materials. While the painting itself is not displayed in the house, its spirit is evident throughout the design, transforming abstract art into tangible interior beauty.

The "Between" design concept extends beyond the artistic inspiration. It represents the delicate balance between modern and classic elements, as well as the harmonious coexistence of different colors and styles. The designers skillfully combined modern gray glass, tiles, and stainless steel with classic cornices and wallpapers, creating a space that seamlessly blends the best of both worlds.

One of the key challenges of this project was to create rooms that catered to the preferences of both the parents and their son and daughter. The designers successfully achieved this by carefully selecting elements that appealed to each family member's tastes, resulting in a space that reflects the unique personalities of its inhabitants.

The design team utilized advanced technologies such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D Max to bring their vision to life. The result is a stunning 300m2 residential interior that exudes elegance and sophistication.

Throughout the design process, the designers collaborated closely with the homeowners to ensure that their needs and expectations were met. Months of discussions and meticulous attention to detail were invested to deliver a space that not only met the highest quality standards but also exceeded the client's expectations.

The "Between" design project was completed in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Extensive research was conducted to analyze the circulation and layout of various residential spaces, ensuring a smooth flow and a well-thought-out arrangement.

One of the most memorable aspects of this design is the surprise the designers created for the son in his room. By understanding his interests, they crafted a custom light in the shape of his favorite movie character, adding a touch of personalization and delight to the space.

The "Between" design has garnered recognition and acclaim, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
