This drying rack can be folded, with the folding length completed at 1/4 of the ordinary drying rack, maximizing space savings. Made from organic material, it is one-time molded to ensure durability. With dimensions of 15mm in width and 400mm in depth, this innovative hanger is designed to reduce space usage and provide convenience.
The drying racks on both sides and the middle shaft can be lifted up for use, allowing clothes to be hung. After use, the drying racks can be folded inward, reducing the hanger to 1/4 of its original size. This design was developed by a team of talented designers including Du Haibin, Cao Weizhi, Chen Qi, and Zhao Hongyuan at the Laboratory of Industrial Design, Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in China.
The project was carried out from January to February 2017 at the academy's industrial design laboratory. The team conducted research on traditional hangers and identified their deficiencies, leading to the improvement and redesign of the hanger. The folding mechanism of this hanger was developed to address the challenge of limited space in modern living environments.
The Hanger for Simple Life received the Iron A' Furniture Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The hanger's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contribute to a better world by providing fulfillment and positive feelings.
