The Wind Series Outdoor Furniture, designed by Wei, Chen and Zhu, draws inspiration from the lightness and freedom of the wind. The designers aimed to capture the feeling of joy that nature brings and translate it into furniture that expresses freedom and travel. This collection of outdoor furniture explores the versatility of furniture in outdoor spaces, creating a sense of home away from home.

The unique properties of the Wind Series Outdoor Furniture lie in its constructivism of arc and square shapes. The table, with its three-step folding mechanism, transforms into a lightweight form. The chairs feature natural and modest colors, with a folding structure reminiscent of a campstool, making them easy to move around. The chair surface is woven with Tyvek and Nylon Ribbon, a waterproof material suitable for outdoor environments. The wood and ribbon are stitched together using a double line, adding to the furniture's noble quality.

The Wind Series Outdoor Furniture is realized through a combination of CNC and manual processing. The various parts are meticulously crafted and assembled to ensure a seamless and sturdy structure. The furniture is designed to be foldable and rotatable, providing users with convenience and ease of use. The floor lamp, with its three-dimensional arc frame, can rotate 360 degrees, creating an interesting interaction with people.

The Wind Series Outdoor Furniture project started in April 2018 in Guangzhou and was completed in May 2018. It was exhibited at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in June 2018. The designers conducted extensive research to select the materials and colors that best complemented the outdoor environment. The use of sand Billy as the main material, along with wood dyeing, adds to the furniture's natural and relaxed aesthetic. The combination of metal and the floor lamp's minimalist design further enhances the overall lightness of the collection.

The Wind Series Outdoor Furniture faced challenges in ensuring the strength and stability of the furniture structure, as well as finding the right materials to match the outdoor space. However, through creative problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail, the designers were able to overcome these challenges and create a collection that seamlessly extends the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.

The Wind Series Outdoor Furniture has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2019. This prestigious award honors designs that demonstrate resourcefulness and ingenuity, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
