Hyku: Revolutionizing Television Viewing with Second Screen Synchronization

Hyku Llc's Award-Winning Mobile Application Enhances TV Experience with Perfectly Synced Content

Hyku, a mobile application designed by Hyku Llc, offers a unique and interactive approach to television viewing. With the backing of 22 patents, Hyku provides a second screen synchronization experience, enhancing the viewer's interaction with their favorite shows. This innovative design has earned the Silver A' Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design Award in 2017.

The inspiration behind Hyku stemmed from the desire to provide viewers with additional content and interaction while watching television. Whether it's a song playing in the background or a shirt an actor is sporting, all relevant content is automatically displayed on Hyku, synced perfectly with the programming. This innovative approach to television viewing was born out of a passion for media and television.

What sets Hyku apart is its intuitive design and user-friendly interface. Large panels on the main page display current TV shows, while notifications guide users of all technological competence through the app. Each show features aesthetically pleasing, perfectly synced content, meeting the demands of app users. The design also incorporates a patent-pending live wagering game, a platform for user-submitted content, and a social engagement feature.

Hyku was realized using Sketch 4.2, Adobe Photoshop CC 2017, and After Effect CC 2017. The application is compatible with iOS 8.0 and above, and Android 4.2 and above. The project was conceived in March 2011 in Waterloo, Canada, started in March 2014, in Zhuhai, China, and the latest version was completed in February 2017, in Zhuhai China. It was exhibited at the Broadcast Asia conference in Singapore in May 2016 and is currently used in the China and Indonesia markets.

The development of Hyku was backed by extensive research. A four-month marketing and consumer research period in 2014 determined the viability of the project. Interviews with twenty-five television directors from across China resulted in an eighty-eight percent approval rating for Hyku’s concept and design. The most challenging aspect of the design was ensuring that the application was as user-friendly for technologically challenged users as it was for savvy users. This challenge was met by collecting user behavior data and making observations over a two-year period to improve and enhance Hyku’s usability.

Hyku's design is focused on deriving maximum value out of its twenty-two patents, centered around second screen synchronization with television programming or live streaming. The design aesthetically displays Hyku’s perfected synced content, whether it is e-commerce, user interactions, or additional information. The copyrights for this innovative design belong to Hyku LLC, from 2014 to 2017.

Hyku's innovative approach to television viewing has earned it the Silver A' Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. Hyku's unique design and functionality have set a new standard in the realm of television viewing.
