The Kinpak Brand Lab, created by designer Suyuan Luo, is a unique and innovative project that aims to redefine visual identity. Inspired by a poem by a Taiwanese poet, the lab's name, "Kinpak," is derived from the words "See" and "White," symbolizing the wisdom of perceiving the subtle details. The lab's logo, designed in the seal script, cleverly hides the word "White" within the margins of "See," representing the wise man's ability to see beyond the obvious.
What sets the Kinpak Brand Lab apart is its strong cultural connotation and design pattern. After four months of meticulous work, the lab was born. The use of red, a color deeply rooted in Chinese culture, adds a touch of traditional elegance to the overall design. The seal type design, with its intricate internal structure, seamlessly integrates with the brand's name, creating a harmonious and visually appealing identity.
The realization of the Kinpak Brand Lab involved various techniques and processes. From design sampling and checking requirements to proofing, production molding, printing, and packaging, every step was carefully executed to ensure the highest quality.
The lab's design specifications include an A1-sized poster (594mmx840mm), a cup measuring 60mm (minor diameter) x 140mm (height) x 80mm (major diameter), and a paper bag sized at 200mmx80mmx280mm.
Located at Beijing Normal University Zhuhai in China, the Kinpak Brand Lab project began in November 2016 and was completed in January 2017. Throughout the duration of the project, the team collaborated to provide their designs, ultimately selecting the one that best represented the lab's vision.
Underlying the design of the Kinpak Brand Lab is extensive research. The team found that incorporating cultural elements and giving meaning to design proved to be highly effective. Drawing inspiration from calligraphy, history, poetry, and even jokes, the lab successfully created a design that resonates with its audience.
One of the main challenges faced during the design process was striking a balance between directness and gracefulness. The team aimed to create a visually striking design that was not abrupt but harmonious. Achieving this required meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the design's intended message.

The Kinpak Brand Lab was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017 in the category of Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design. This prestigious award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
