Sustainable and Ecological Apartment Design by Deniz Ceyhun Baykan

Akay Neris Residence, designed by Deniz Ceyhun Baykan, is a sustainable and ecological apartment complex that aims to address the challenges of providing energy and water to a growing population. The design incorporates innovative features to ensure a more sustainable and environmentally friendly living environment.

One of the key features of the design is the use of photo-voltaic energy panels on all rooftop areas and suitable facade surfaces. These panels harness solar energy to generate electricity, reducing the reliance on traditional energy sources. Additionally, the design includes a waste water refinement system for all grey and black water in the project. The refined water is then used for landscaping irrigation, further reducing water consumption.

To enhance the sustainability of the design, a rainwater accumulation system is also integrated. This system collects rainwater and stores it for later use, reducing the demand for freshwater resources. The combination of these sustainable features not only reduces the environmental impact of the residence but also promotes a more self-sufficient and eco-friendly lifestyle for its residents.

The design of Akay Neris Residence also takes into consideration the comfort and well-being of its residents. The south facade of the 16-storey blocks features movable metal sun breakers, which can be adjusted to prevent excessive sunlight during hot summer days. This ensures a comfortable indoor environment while minimizing the need for artificial cooling systems.

The construction of Akay Neris Residence is currently underway in Ankara/Yasamkent. The project, which started six months ago, reflects the designer's commitment to creating architecture that is in harmony with the surrounding landscape. By integrating sustainable design principles and innovative technologies, Akay Neris Residence offers a glimpse into a future where energy and water are sourced from nature, leading to a better quality of life for its residents.

Deniz Ceyhun Baykan, along with a team of talented individuals including technical illustrators Nazım Baylar, Dmitriy Trofimov, Tugba Ersen, Sadık Alkan, and Emre Ozturk, has successfully created a design that not only meets professional and industrial requirements but also contributes to a better world. This design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Construction and Real Estate Projects category in 2017.
