The inspiration for Shokrniya stemmed from the desire to create separate spaces with different functions, yet parts of a whole structure. The use of beige, a color associated with luxury in Iran, was pivotal in developing the project's concept. The spaces are presented as boxes in two colors, distinguishing between clean and dirty spaces. For instance, hair cutting and manicure sections are located in beige spaces with epoxy resin flooring for easy cleaning, while the makeup section, secretary room, and waiting spaces are in the white spaces. These boxes, closed or semi-closed, offer customers a private experience without any acoustic or olfactory disturbances.
Shokrniya's unique properties lie in its thoughtful design and functionality. The cooling and heating system, Duct Split, was chosen after careful examination of the salon's ventilation. The duct and its inner system required fifty cm space in the ceiling, which was cleverly utilized in areas mostly required for sitting, transforming a limitation into an advantage. The lighting was designed according to the required standards to maximize space for cosmetic services. Additionally, minerals were added to the water produced by the split for watering the plants.
The realization of Shokrniya involved various technologies and materials, including Knauf for drywall and ceiling, Kale for ceramic tile, Shell for floor epoxy, Shoa for lighting, Vitra for bathroom and kitchen furniture, AGT for MDF, and Nazari Group for chairs. The design was made in an 88-square-meter space located in SaadatAbad Street, Tehran, Iran.
The project faced several challenges, including selecting an integrated flooring that is easy to clean and resistant against chemical detergents. This was resolved by choosing epoxy after testing various materials. Another challenge was the limited range of colors of different materials and choosing the target uniform beige color. The issue was overcome by using the MDF color, which has the most limited color choices, and then making epoxy and the wall paint color based on it.
Shokrniya's design is a testament to Kasra ShafieeZadeh's innovative approach to architecture and interior design. The project's success is evident in its accolades, including the prestigious Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
In conclusion, Shokrniya is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can transform a space into a luxurious and inspiring environment. Its innovative use of space, color, and materials, combined with its functionality and aesthetic appeal, make it a standout in the world of interior design.
