Moon Troops' Innovative Approach to Beauty Care Packaging

Moon Troops' inspiration for the Moerie product line was drawn from two contrasting sources. The first was the quaint charm of a small Provence pharmacy from a century ago, where carefully mixed natural products were dispensed in iconic brown glass medical bottles. The second was the splendour of the modern-day fashion industry. The result is a product line that exudes an overall feeling of naturalness, luxury, and unique composition.

The design of Moerie is centered around what matters most to the customer. All superfluous elements were eliminated, leaving only the essential parts. The primary packaging consists of brown glass and stiff brown plastic bottles, screen printed in yellow with all necessary information. The brown and yellow color scheme conveys a message of natural, historic, and earthy product. The secondary packaging box, complete with a drawer, adds a touch of luxury and emotional value.

Moon Troops' attention to detail is evident in the selection of materials, printing technologies, and quality. The PET bottles and glass jar were decorated using silk printing technology, while the secondary packaging was made from cardboard, printed in two Pantones, and covered with Soft Touch laminate and UV coating. The design team, led by Creative Director Motiejus Gaigalas, also ensured that the packaging was sturdy enough to withstand heavy products.

The functionality of the Moerie product line was also a key consideration. Easy-to-use dispensers were incorporated into the shampoo and conditioner bottles, allowing consumers to use the product without unscrewing the cap. The jar of hair mask was designed to be as wide as possible for an easy-to-use experience. The luxury drawer box not only added emotional value but also served perfectly as a gift box.

The Moerie product line is a testament to Moon Troops' innovative approach to design. It has successfully combined naturalness, luxury, and fashion in a harmonious blend, creating a beauty care product line that stands out in the market. This unique design has earned Moon Troops the Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2017, a prestigious accolade awarded to designs that showcase outstanding expertise and innovation.
