David Chang Design Associates Int'l drew inspiration from the project's location in Lingnan, the southernmost region of China. The design direction is a confluence of Chinese and Western eclecticism, incorporating elements such as wall edge lines, post styles, stone wall panel shapes, and a balanced symmetrical layout from Western neoclassical architecture. These elements are harmoniously blended with European classical adornments.
The design's unique properties lie in its reflection of the city's development momentum, boosted by the government's 5 billion investment. As Aristotle once said, "People come to the city for life, and people live in cities to live better." This philosophy is embodied in the design, aiming to strike a balance between prosperity and serenity in urban living.
The project covers a total area of 1460 square meters, with the highest point at 9.25 meters and the lowest at 3.4 meters above the finishing floor. The space planning is based on symmetrical balance with southeast and northwest wings. The center traffic flow is reserved for reception and site model display area, capable of housing nearly a hundred guests simultaneously. The southeast wing serves as a negotiation area, while the northwestern wing houses a small model display area.
Despite the project's spacious appearance, fulfilling all the client's functional requirements was a challenge. The team had to accommodate areas for reception, site and project model displays, contract negotiation, children's play area, bank loan services, VIP, administration staff, and a large conference room for 30 people. Despite the time constraint, the team successfully met all the requests.
The design process began without the actual architectural structure being conceived. The team took advantage of the Chinese New Year festival to immerse themselves in the local culture, which helped to develop the design concept further. From the schematic design phase to the final contract document phase, the entire process took the team eight months to complete.
In conclusion, the Grand Influx Presentation Sales Center is a testament to David Chang Design Associates Int'l's ability to blend cultural elements with modern design principles. The project's success is a reflection of the team's dedication to creating designs that not only meet functional requirements but also resonate with the local culture and history.
