Jeongwon Rachel Kim, a talented designer with a background in visual arts, has created a truly unique and captivating ring design called "Amorphous Dance." Inspired by the image of the moon shining through the swaying leaves on a moist night, Kim wanted to express the amorphous feeling from her heart.

The design features an opaque amber, chosen specifically to represent the secret history of amber, known as "Tears from Trees." Kim skillfully combines dazzling blue pearls, representing the "light of water," with lavish blue topaz and opal to create a mesmerizing visual effect.

What sets "Amorphous Dance" apart from other ring designs is the way Kim has transformed the amber into a mini sculpture. By using a combination of brush strokes made from moving pearls, she creates the illusion of a moon in motion. The result is a piece of jewelry that not only showcases the beauty of the gemstones but also tells a story.

Kim worked on this design independently, bringing her artistic vision to life. The project was completed in March 2017 in Toronto, Canada, taking approximately three weeks from the initial drawing to the final art piece.

During the design process, Kim faced several challenges. She wanted to create a piece of jewelry that went beyond current fashion trends and instead told a story of life. By grafting personal whispers onto the design, she aimed to turn jewelry into a mini sculpture with a deeper meaning.

"Amorphous Dance" has been recognized for its excellence and innovation. In 2017, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category.
