White Shoal: A Revolutionary Sales Center Design

Golden A' Design Award Winner: Ming Leung and Golden Ho's Masterpiece

Unveiling the White Shoal, a groundbreaking sales center design that challenges traditional concepts and stimulates thought through its dramatic spatial visual effects. This award-winning design is a testament to the courage and vitality of modern youth, embracing new ideas and experiences.

White Shoal, a 1400 square meter sales center, is a unique creation of designers Ming Leung and Golden Ho. Its design concept employs a three-dimensional, free-tilt approach, with floors interlacing to form a staggered, non-floc structure. The result is a rhythmic spatial visual effect that creates a strong and dramatic artistic space, unlike any other.

The inspiration behind White Shoal is the youthful self-confidence and vitality that thrives in a white atmosphere. This energy, open to embracing the unique characteristics of new things, inspired the designers to create an experience space that stands against the traditional. The space is designed to activate people's thinking in a tense and turbulent atmosphere.

White Shoal's construction involved the use of highly plastic cement for the main backdrop. The gray, rough cement modeling, combined with 190 specifications of clear cement board, forms a minimalist sculpture wall that is continuous and unified. The use of snow white, wood finishes, and terrazzo as the main materials in space enhances the aesthetic appeal of the design.

The design's unique properties and realization technology earned it the prestigious Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.

The project, which started in March 2016 in Baishazhou, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, was completed in January 2017. The design team, which included Luo Pinyong, Huang Huiru, Wang Bo, Yang Yahui, Jiang Jianyun, Lin Zibin, and Hong Junneng, faced the challenge of creating a space with contradictory perception. Through the process of discovering and improving themselves, they were able to stimulate human instincts to respond and find reasons, lifting the confusion.

White Shoal is a testament to the power of design in challenging traditional concepts and stimulating thought. It is a space that encourages dialogue and interaction, offering a unique experience that is both comfortable and orderly. Its neat lines and geometric form provide a tangible and intangible feeling of free space creativity, exploring the experiencing interest of space.
