Being different is always the best way to differentiate yourself from others. The ALNO Showroom embraces this strategy to outshine its surroundings. The showroom exercises excellent contrasting design to highlight the unique features and strengths of the brand and its collections. Contradicting the old city, the showroom stands as a beacon of modernity and style.
The design of the ALNO Showroom incorporates various elements to create a visually striking space. The exterior features a protruding sign made of dark-grey black gypsum board, with the company logo marked separately on an outstanding white aluminum panel. This inconsistency naturally makes the showroom the most eye-catching spot within the area.
Upon entering the showroom, visitors are greeted with a clear division of different areas, each showcasing a signature collection under the ALNO brand. The full-height glass panels provide a glimpse into the beautifully designed spaces. The ceiling, often overlooked in many designs, is given special attention. Different irregular quadrilaterals at varying heights are used to identify each collection, creating layers and enhancing the sense of space.
The use of dark colors and metals, typically associated with coldness and sharpness, is given a different perception in the ALNO Showroom. A light-toned and raw wooden laminate wall covering is applied in the Alnostar Cara area, contrasting with the dark grey ceramic cabinets and softening the overall image of the products. The choice of materials used in the products themselves also inspires the design. For example, a highlighted collection featuring bright white and an elegant shingle effect is complemented by white brick wall coverings, providing support without overwhelming the products.
The ALNO Showroom, designed by Alain Wong, is a testament to the power of unique and contrasting design. It successfully showcases the individualities of the ALNO brand and its collections, creating a space that is both visually stunning and functional. This design has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2014 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
