The upper part of the bucket is dedicated to storing ice, while the lower part features a small city, representing the coastal areas that are most vulnerable to rising sea levels.

One of the standout features of the Ice Keeper is its built-in ice holder on the top, allowing users to easily access and serve the ice. Additionally, the lower part of the bucket is designed to separate the water from the melting ice, helping to control the rate of melting and prolonging the lifespan of the ice. When the water reaches a certain level, a small hatch at the bottom of the bucket can be opened to release it.

The Ice Keeper is crafted using a combination of glass and stainless steel for the main structure, giving it a sleek and modern look. The miniature city in the lower part of the bucket is 3D printed using wood and meticulously painted to resemble a real cityscape.

Measuring 20 cm in length, 15 cm in width, and 30 cm in height, the Ice Keeper is a compact and functional design that can be proudly displayed at any gathering or event.

The creation of the Ice Keeper was not without its challenges. The designer aimed to create a unique ice bucket that not only served its purpose but also conveyed a powerful message. Through careful research and creative problem-solving, Sameh Ibrahim Emam was able to overcome these challenges and bring this impactful design to life.

The Ice Keeper project began in April 2017 and was completed in June 2017 in Cairo. It serves as a testament to the designer's dedication to creating furniture pieces that not only serve a functional purpose but also contribute to raising awareness about important environmental issues.
