Alexander Kirzhbaum, the mastermind behind Solaris, drew inspiration from the concept of traveling between galaxies in a millisecond. This fascination with outer space led to the creation of an exhibition that allows visitors to discover space like astronauts, feeling the scale of the universe firsthand. The unique properties of Solaris lie in its ability to 'teleport' visitors into space within seconds, a metaphor that is deeply embedded in its identity.
The visual identity of Solaris is brought to life through various mediums including posters, business cards, tickets, and merchandise. These handouts, along with a navigation system, flyers, and pins, are integral to the cosmic exhibition. The design tags associated with the project include space, identity, logo, journey, and entertainment, reflecting the essence of this unique venture.
The project, which started in Moscow in April 2016, is still ongoing. The design process involved brainstorming, mind mapping, and visual research. One of the challenges faced by Kirzhbaum was expanding the initial idea. The design evolved from a man entering a portal to include other terrestrial creatures and even extraterrestrial beings making their way to our planet.
Solaris is more than just an exhibition; it's an experience that makes visitors feel like they've entered outer space. The instantaneous transfer to distant galaxies, achieved simply by opening the entrance door, is a testament to the design's focus on teleportation as an immediate and precise instrument of transport between different parts of the Universe.
Alexander Kirzhbaum's Solaris has been recognized for its innovation and creativity, winning the Golden A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is granted to creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics. All copyrights for Solaris belong to Alexander Kirzhbaum, further cementing his mark in the realm of design.
