The design's uniqueness lies in its symbolic representation of the product's name and the feeling it suggests. The designers created a hexagonal emblem, illustrating a snowy world, using a joint-use of graph method. The emblem depicts sport, travel, and nature, aiming to impress consumers with the association and memory about snow. At the lower part, a mosaic process of the poetic scene, “Snow falls in Changan”, completes the graphic design, which is both detailed and panoptic.
The design was realized using a unique color, Marrs Green, believed to be the most popular color worldwide. The technique used was spot-color printing. The design was applied to three different bottles, each with a different capacity: a 500ml aluminum can, a 355ml aluminum bottle, and a 500ml glass bottle.
The design process, which took place from July to September 2017 in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing, faced challenges, particularly with the choice of color. The client initially expressed concerns about the boldness and fashion-forward nature of the green color. However, after presenting research supporting the popularity of Marrs Green, the client agreed to the proposal.
The Snow Beer design stands out not only for its innovative design but also for its recognition in the design world. The design was awarded Silver in A' Packaging Design Award in 2018, a prestigious accolade rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
In conclusion, the Snow Beer design by Tiger Pan and Dong Yan is a testament to the power of innovative design in enhancing a brand's identity. It successfully combines modern Chinese culture with a unique graphic design, creating a memorable and identifiable brand image for Snow Beer.
