The inspiration behind the SpaceTime Coordinates Art Prints is to celebrate humanity, its achievements, and ingenuity. The project aims to provide a perspective on our place in the universe, emphasizing the importance of exploration, learning, and creation. The uniqueness of the project lies in its precision and individuality. No two different dates produce the same design, resulting in truly unique prints.
The realization of this project involves the use of the latest NASA data and algorithms to compute the positions of the planets and their orbital paths accurately. The four dimensions (x, y, z, and t) are used to represent a particular location in time and space, known as the 4th dimension. The orbital paths are illustrated by gradient lines, showcasing the counterclockwise direction of all the planets.
The prints come in three sizes and are printed on matte thick archival and acid-free paper or luster paper, which has highly saturated colors, is fingerprint resistant, and slightly glossy. The prints are available in three colors: pitch black, dark night, and void white. The project was launched on Kickstarter in late 2017 and raised CA$ 79520 from 913 backers. Production started in December 2017 in the USA and was completed in early 2018.
The project faced the challenge of developing a 3D simulation of the solar system that generates the planets' positions according to any given date. However, with the help of developer Martin Vézina, this challenge was successfully overcome. The SpaceTime Coordinates Art Prints project is a testament to the power of innovation, creativity, and the human spirit's relentless pursuit of knowledge and exploration.
In conclusion, the SpaceTime Coordinates Art Prints by Govy is a unique project that beautifully marries art and astronomy. It offers a unique way to celebrate personal or historical events and serves as a reminder of humanity's place in the grand scheme of the universe. The project's recognition with a Silver A' Design Award is a testament to its exceptional creativity, technical prowess, and its ability to inspire wonder and amazement.
