The Kingkey Yujing Central Residence, designed by Kevin Hu, draws inspiration from the grace and elegance of iconic figures like Coco Chanel and Christian Dior. The designer carefully selected elements of delicacy and refinement from contemporary life and seamlessly incorporated them into the residential space. The result is a harmonious blend of sophistication and tranquility.
One of the unique features of this design is the furniture, which features a dark color palette that complements the neat and gracious surfaces. When sunlight filters through the windows, it creates a peaceful ambiance, reminiscent of a serene moment in time. The fluent lines that intersect throughout the interior and exterior spaces further enhance the sense of tranquility and pleasure.
The choice of materials also plays a significant role in achieving the unique design of the Kingkey Yujing Central Residence. Fine fabrics, marble tabletops, and leather-covered seating add a touch of luxury and refinement to each room. The use of chino vein tinted marble, cross grain parquet, and teakwood shelves breaks the monotony and adds visual interest to the space.
The design of the Kingkey Yujing Central Residence prioritizes natural light, with open window layouts on both the north and south sides of the building. This allows for ample sunlight to flood the rooms, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. Spotlights and artistic lamps are strategically placed to create a delicate and modern living environment.
The Kingkey Yujing Central Residence features a foyer at the entrance that leads into the main living area. The saloon and dining room are designed with precision, each offering a different approach while maintaining an equally satisfactory result. The central symmetry and luxury dimensions create a sense of grandeur and elegance.
When entering the space, one immediately feels a sense of comfort and relaxation. The absence of unnecessary ornamentation and the use of a white color palette create a serene atmosphere, free from worries and negative emotions. The Kingkey Yujing Central Residence is a place to enjoy the present moment with oneself and loved ones.
The project, which started in April 2017 and was completed in November 2017, is a testament to the meticulous research and attention to detail that went into its creation. The designer aimed to create a showflat room that would provide customers with an intuitive impression and a sense of belonging. The result is a space that not only showcases the design's beauty but also increases the desire to make it a home.
The Kingkey Yujing Central Residence presented several challenges during the design process. The designer experimented with a new material, 22mm thick craft acrylic, which required luminescence treatment. After extensive research and testing, this material was successfully incorporated into the design. Additionally, the limited ceiling height of the original building posed a challenge, requiring the use of the thinnest indoor air conditioner to maximize the height and achieve the desired design effect.
The Kingkey Yujing Central Residence is a testament to the creativity, technical expertise, and attention to detail of Kevin Hu and his team, including Jason Jiang, Wendell Wu, Vivi Zhang, and Rachel Guo. Their dedication and commitment to creating a space that exudes elegance and tranquility have resulted in a design that is both visually stunning and functionally exceptional.
This design project has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is granted to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics. The Kingkey Yujing Central Residence is a true testament to the power of design to create a better world.
