During the design process, Zhou Qingqing and Peng Lanying conducted thorough research to address the limitations of traditional hangers. Their goal was to create a hanger that would significantly improve the user experience, whether at home or while traveling. By identifying common problems such as clothes being blown off by the wind, clothes getting folded together, and limited compatibility with different clothesline poles, they developed a solution that tackles these challenges head-on.

The Adjustable Folding Hanger project began in September 2017 in Xiamen and was completed in November of the same year. While pending patent approval, this design has already received recognition for its ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2018. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
