Lè Architecture: Aedas' Marvel of Design and Innovation

Golden A' Design Award Winner Transforms Taipei's Skyline

The design of Lè Architecture, located near the Jilong River, is a testament to the creative prowess of Aedas. The building's unique properties, including its cantilevered communal space, make it an attractive hub for small IT companies seeking a flexible and interactive workspace. This 'urban living room' features pantries, coffee shops, libraries, and brainstorming areas, all designed to promote creativity and catalyze interaction among office users.

The 18-storey office building is conceived as an 'incubator of knowledge,' where innovative ideas are exchanged and brought to life. Its rounded silhouette tapers as it ascends, enclosed by a curtain wall that harmonizes the outer structure. This design creates a series of outdoor balconies offering unparalleled views for the users. The building's gross floor area is 11,449.8 sqm, with a land area of 1,944.2 sqm and a maximum height of 71.7m.

One of the key features of Lè Architecture is its sustainable design. The project is LEED Gold certified, featuring a breathable building envelope that controls heat gain. The vertical aluminum fins, designed with specific distances and depths, regulate the amount of sunlight entering the building. This green façade, reminiscent of moss on a stone, brings fresh air into the office space, making the building a permeable, breathing mass filled with life.

The design process was not without its challenges. The architects had to create a structure that would both reflect the elegance of the local culture and celebrate the excitement of the contemporary. The result is a building that integrates regional culture in a contemporary form, contributing to the rich cultural history and adventurous cityscape of Taipei.

Lè Architecture was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in 2018, a prestigious accolade granted to outstanding and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology. This award is a testament to Aedas' prodigy and wisdom, and to the extraordinary excellence of Lè Architecture.
